Cloud platform for Unix/Linux users?

Hello, Forum; I am looking for something like Microsoft Azure, but for Unix / Linux (other than a Microsoft version).
Thanks for sugestions.

Google searches yield no recommendations?

Too many. So I would like personal non-robotic suggestions.

Personally, I like Linode.

Thanks for the sugestion. You are very kind.

Hi,

For hosting Linux containers, my personal favourite is to use either OpenVZ or Virtuozzo. These products are made by the same company, Virtuozzo, with OpenVZ being the free/unsupported version, with a few paid-only features missing, but with all the core technical functionality intact. There's a wide choice of Linux distributions available as container OS's, and common administrative tasks such as stopping, starting, creating, destroying and migrating containers are all quite straightforward. It's also very easy from the host server to execute commands within individual containers without having to log in to the containers with a username and password, so executing a command en-masse across a large number of containers is also very easy to do.

Anyway, that's my experience at least. But there are plenty of virtualisation platforms that can be used for the hosting of Linux-based containers or virtual machines - VMware, Xen, Hyper-V, etc.

It is very good news that there is a platform for free, even if it is unsupported.
Thank you so much for the information.
Kind regards.
