Xclock Sometime Working

Dear All,

We are facing some issue, we have notice when we type xclock some time its working and sometime its show error like l:

Error: Can't open display: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXXX

Our IP address is dynamic and its changes almost every day. Any advise please?

I will add in completing previous post, that not knowing your situation, we cannot give you an answer, only guessing:

  • Are you on a windows PC using an X emulation software like hummingbird, ReflectionX etc?
  • are you using a pc with Linux?
  • are you on a Mac?

Those 3 questions above is about remote connection, if so, next:

How do you connect? ssh? if so it gets tricky, you need X/ip forwarding/tunneling activated to work

etc...
