UNIX server

Hi,

I have used UNIX for quite a while now, but want to do some stuff personal, training etc. I have putty on my machine but not a server. Might sound silly but was wondering is their away online to get a server just to do scripts installs etc & play around.

I used to use Linode. The basic, cheapest one is now $5 USD a month:

But I'm sure there are even cheaper services out there, for sure.
