I really like Ekko or Emerge. But I voted for Ekko.
Kelam_Magus, are you sure that you saw a demo of Ekko? It looks like Ekko is not up yet. When I click on the "Ekko Launch Demo" I get a repeat of whatever previous demo I did. The other "launch demo" buttons button specify a styleid in the url. The Ekko one does not...so I guess that you stay with the previous style.
I just looked at the small icon to the left. I didn't try the demo. 
Yes, there is a problem with the Ekko Skin link. I hope Corey will fix it (he has at least one email in his inbox on the subject).
I also asked Corey to change the graphic to "UNIX.COM" for us and the reply I got back was, "I'll send you the PCD file and you do it!"

What we need is a better header graphic!!!! I'm really bored with the current one and suspect everyone else is feeling the same way!!!
The Emerge skins is OK, but seems a bit dark (we can easily change colors in vB, so no problem). I like the header graphic, but Corey did not volunteer to change it to UNIX.COM for us. Seems a few minutes of his time was a bit much to ask to be featured on the UNIX forums? I am a bit confused by his unwillingness to make the changes for us in such a popular forum (nevermind, perhaps he has his own good reasons).
So far, the default theme we are currently using is holding up well under "the competition" ... 
My personal opinion is that we need a smaller header image...
Some of us saps are still on dial-up most of the time, and it's a litte obtrusive...
If you can't find anyone with Photoshop, I used to be decent with it, albeit a few versions ago...
How about a thinner banner with all the various mascots of the various Unices? Lesee, you got the various Chuck Daemons, Tux the Penguen, Darwin the Platypus, and I am sure there are others (The running man of AIX?) I don't know how much this would tread on trademark. I figure Neo has had enough of that fight!

Just something simple that is smaller and looks great and says UNIX.COM and then, maybe something small in the corner that says "Universial Internet eXchange"
