In the past, a number of our members who are also "Makers" posts about the Arduino and other DIY projects, like @wisecracker's audioscope (as an example). Also, since other DIY categories like Additive Manufacturing (i.e. 3D printing) are now affordable for the masses and all hobbyists, many have predicted that in the future 3D printers will be as common in residential homes as microwave ovens are today. The prediction (for many years) is that the future will be such that households will make their own parts at home using 3D printers and on-line digital design assets versus ordering them from manufacturers.
For this reason, I have created this new top level topic category "Makers (DIY)" and hope that all current, potential, and future makers will post their projects and questions in this category:
In addition, I am requesting all senior members and moderators move all legacy DIY topics to this new Makers category as they happen to run across them in the forums. FYI, I moved a few today while waiting for my vaccine at the hospital.
Best Regards,
Neo
