My view is that a forum such as this does not require 2FA from a risk-management perspective.
This forum is not a bank, or a brokerage service, or any type of account which requires 2FA and the risks of locking out users when it does not work, as Discourse code breaks frequently, are real.
2FA (at a forum such as this) is not worth the complexity and time to support 2FA here and so it is not supported.
This is a discussion forum, not a financial institution or other site which has a high risk profile.
If anyone requires 2FA here and are not comfortable with HTTPS (encrypted session), and username and password to login, then please accept our apologies and take care.
Discourse 2FA has issues, and we do not support it here because 2FA is not necessary for a discussion forum, especially for a first time user with no posts
