Is Mac OS X Server Really Powerful?

Look We all know that Linux is almost BulletProof and about 40% faster than Win2K3 Server, When running Oracle DB, Right?

Now my Question is can OS X run just as Well as Linux as a Server being PowerPC and Whatever, Can it be just as stable?

Now You Tell me, Which is most Practical:

Linux (AMD64)
Mac OS X Server 10.3 (PPC64)
Linux (PPC64)

PPC64 = G5

Hi,

What will be the role of the server ? What do you want to do ? Is high availability critical ?

You're trying to compare differente architectures, you'll have to make some tests ( or try to find someone who has made them already ) to find what is fastest/better solution to suit your needs.

RedVenim - Please read the rules about posting this type of question - (Rule 8 )

And then take a look at this article at ZDnet on the MAC G5 cluster.

Agree with RTM. Deleted last post by RedVenim and I'm closing the thread.

RedVenim, let's stick to Q&A and away from this vs. that discussions, per the forum rules as RTM kindly suggested..

If you are interested in performance benchmarks, see the benchmark section. If you want to run you own benchmarks and post them, please do.
