Inline code squeezes consecutive spaces

The following 10 consecutive spaces are squeezed to one space
/ /

Works okay in a code block:

/          /

Yes, that is one reason we recommend everyone put code in a block and not embed it in a line.

However, if it really bothers you, please post a bug report over at meta.discourse.org and see if they will modify their markdown implementation.

But I have a feeling they will not consider this a priority and so they will not fix it.

Maybe I'm wrong.
