Please: would anyone object to discussions of FreeBSD 14.0-CURRENT?
Might we have sub-categories for FreeBSD and FreeBSD-CURRENT?
TIA

Sounds like a reasonable request.
You @grahamperrin will be the SME for that category ?
Thanks.
I'm reasonably familiar with administration of Discourse e.g. Description of various user states … in Discourse Meta, but wasn't familiar with the phrase SME in this context until I found a mention in the Discourse User Roles difference topic.
Subject matter expert, yes?
I'm certainly not expert in all areas (FreeBSD and the ports collection are broad-ranging), but I'm accustomed to triage etc.; and know where to direct people for expertise.
Thanks, and sorry, I should have been clearer from the outset.
Generically:
Uppercase is customary. Hyphenated, without spacing.
CURRENT:
So, better without version numbering.
Would this be too deep a hierarchy for your liking?
UNIX
BSD
FreeBSD
CURRENT
If you prefer:
UNIX
FreeBSD
CURRENT
– then if people want to discuss RELEASE or STABLE, they can do so in the FreeBSD category (without delving into the CURRENT sub).
In any case, I don't expect much traffic. CURRENT here will be a niche, to complement (not detract from) the official mailing list.
TIA
Discourse only permits two levels.
This new category is already at the second level.
I think it is OK. I did what you asked.
No need to keep changing your ask :). We are all busy people and I think I have been very generous to you already @grahamperrin.
Also, please do not use this site for posting links to promote other sites. This is not permitted for any new user.
Thanks.
Hence, don't make many demands ![]()
It's up to you to prove you have value to add to our site,
So far, I have added a new category for you. If it gets little to no activity, I will delete it.
It's certainly not for posting links to promote others sites by a new user.
Link spam will be deleted.
