Today I wrote a very simple plugin to limit the "About" page stats to staff only.
Future Enhancements
There is at least one Discourse job that has the potential to run in the background and send stats to Discourse. There is a site setting to disable these "anonymous stats", which we disabled a while back:
However, I plan to research the Discourse code base a bit more deeply (when I have more free time) and modify this little plugin to insure no site stats can be inadvertently leaked to other sites.
