OctoPrint runs directly on my mac, setting per this link:
... which I discussed in detail here (Day 21):
Thanks for the board recommendation.
The most important thing for me is a very solid USB connection.
Not planning to use WIFI on the printer because I do not want my computer to connect to the printer via WIFI. I want my macOS WIFI connection "free" to use for other tasks (that is why I use USB to the printer). This setup is the same using Cura or OctoPrint, all print directory to the pointer over my USB cable to my printer. I do not need or want a PI between my mac and the printer.
Have been printing non-stop since I cut the VCC+ wire on an old USB cable and it's running flawless now with no issues related to the printer attempting to power itself via the USB cable, crashing my mac.
Note: I checked out the Duet3d board and the USB port looks the same as my current Creality board; a cheap Micro USB port soldered directly to the board.
Also note, Bing3D contacted me and mentioned they were sending me some new filament to test directly from China. I have no idea what it is or what it will be; so this will be a surprise package.
