looking for the answer to console port access via 25pin serial. Can i tip in from another unix box for access?
I'm not sure what your question is exactly, but if you hook up a serial cable to the console port and attach the other end to a windows box, you should be able to console access through a program such as hyperterminal. If the other end is attached to a Unix box, use minicom.
my U60 doesnt have a console port that i can see, only two serial ports, can these be used as console ports
Yes. Serial ports are used as console ports. Cable pinouts need to match.
thanks neo, so will a straight thru cable work in the back to back situation?
do i just TIP in with normal terminal settings, because that just is not working. Any help is appreciated
