Cannot change an event after it is created. That compromises the entire system.

No, it is correct. The bidding closes on the close date. The event closes and winnings distributed at the end of 2012.
You are bidding now on the stock price (prediction) in the future. That is why it is called
event prediction 
End of 2012 ? or 2102 ?

seems it was changed to 2012 now. when i started this thread the year was 2102.
