Hi Guys,

Thats a strange request...Why do you ask?
Sorry!! that should read:
As such there is no command that a user
is forbid to use(that excludes root commands)
I believe that no command in unix is safe if you are signed on as (or su'ed to) to root.
cal > /dev/mem ![]()
I'm not too sure I agree with that assertion. I certainly know how to use "find" but one careless keystroke will ruin your day.
For example:
This removes every file from the current directory on.
find ./ * -exec rm {} \;
And:
This also removes removes every file from the current directory plus every file from the root directory forward! ![]()
find . / * -exec rm {} \;
^ notice the space between "." and "/".

In fact we are monitoring operations on Unix servers and we would like to track all dangerous commands.
This request would be easier to respond to if you simply listed the "dangers" you were concerned about. The term "dangerous" is too broad and vague.
What "dangers" are you concerned about?
Here's one off the top of my head: "rm -rf"
I imagine that if we list all that we can dream up, we'll certainly miss some that were important to you.
Perhaps you'd be more interested in a framework for governing the use of certain commands; both native to the Unix system and those you install.
PowerPak does a nice jobs and provides audit reports. Essentially, you limit your user's access and provide privileged access through this tool.
