Which is the most stable version in RHEL 5 series.?

hi,

Which is the most stable version in RHEL 5 series ?

since i'm learning EL 6, it has some bug such as created partitions will be enabled after a reboot. so i like to start my learning from EL 5 series for practice.

thanks in advance.

The latest one is probably the most stable as most of its discovered bugs have been addressed; version 5.9 is currently the newest according to RHN.

Also, remember that most distributions are just a collection of software which -oftentimes- is not programmed/built by the company itself but by third party developers, GNU organizations and even independent developers.

For instance, RHEL 5.9 may include -say- a version of OpenSSH that has some unpathced bugs. In those cases the best and fastest way to get the most stable realease would be by going to the OpenSSH developer page.

...even RPM repositories aren't that good keeping up with the latest versions of the software they offer.
