I use HP UNIX 11 now , as I know , the latest version is 11iv2 , ( correct me if i am wrong ) , I hv read the feature of this version , it is 15% performance improved and more secure , if it is truth , I want to upgarde it by myself , but i am too familiar with the OS upgarde , could suggest the procedure and advise what should I need to concern when upgarde ? thx.
HP-UX 11i v2 is for Itanium processors. HP-UX 11i v1 is for PA-RISC processors. You want to use the right version. I have not heard about 15% increase in performance, but I don't use Itanium processors. In the PA-RISC world 11i v1 is a big step up from 11.0, so yes I think an upgrade is worthwhile. The OS comes with an upgrade manual...read it.
