I hev just started a job in unix, perl, sybase and java. Can anyone tell me is there any unix or perl certification exists and if yes then what is the proper source.

For unix knowledge - Yes and for Job prospective it is totally different. You will need to have hands on experience, this is just basic knowledge, that's it.
DOnt waste time learning unix... learn windows and microsoft products.. its easy and more handy..
