Unable to establish niminfo file on client

I have a client that I cannot get the /etc/niminfo file to recreate. I have established the client as a machine resource on the NIM but when trying to create the NIM fileset on the client it continually gets:

xxxnim1: A remote host did not respond within the timeout period.
0042-006 niminit: (init to master) rcmd A remote host did not respond within the
 timeout period.

Found this old post. When I tried running the commands used this was the output:

xxxarcp1 / >lssrc -g nim
0513-086 The nim Group is not on file.
xxxarcp1 / >startsrc -g nim
0513-086 The nim Group is not on file.

Assistance is appreciated.

Is the bos.sysmgt.nim.client installed at all? Or is an old version installed that does not use the src?

That service is there and installed

 bos.sysmgt.nim.client     6.1.9.15  COMMITTED  Network Install Manager -

I have viewed that page you linked and nothing listed there helps. Appreciate the feedback though.
