Unable to delete a file through SAMBA

We have AIX box with a share.

We have a Windows 2000 server with a mapped drive to this share.

We were able to create and delete files inside the mapped drive.

I removed the map. Changed it to a test share. Removed that map. Added it back to teh original share.

However, now we can still create but not delete any file on this share.

Through UNIX we can but not Windows.

The security appears to suggest EVERYONE can DELETE files.

Any ideas please?

try giving 777 permissions to the files you wanted to delete and to the file system/ dir you are sharing..

Do you see any error messages ? Can you post that here ?

There used to be a tool called smbstat which would sometimes tell you which client was blocking what you were trying to do. I guess it's still around, Google hits look promising.
