Thinking about taking a Sun OS Cert

What are your thoughts on the Sun Certified Solaris Associate (SCSAS) certification? Is it worth the effort or should I just by pass this and go straight into the Sun Certified System Administrator (SCSA) certification?

It depends on your knowledge regarding Linux/Unix commang line (creating catalogs, editting files with Vi, etc). If you are on really beginning level at this then you should probably take SCSAS first.

for Solaris , certification is expensive but it worth every penny
if you learn System V you can easily administrate Linux

Not really a beginner but not quite admin level.

There is more just to SCSA. That alone can't get you a good job.

See the list of topics for SCSA here:

Sun Certified System Administrator (SCSA)

and see how familiar you are with these topics, and then you can decide.

If you can afford it, I suggest you take a SUN training course, it's really useful

Good luck !

I also want to pass SCSA exam so we can create something like study group to prepare for exam...
