SunFire T2000 ipmievd error

I'm running Solaris 10 (09/10) on Sun Fire T2000.

This error message is logged repeatedly in /var/adm/messages:

Any idea why this is happening and how to fix it ?

have you tried to reset the ilom of your server? looks like ipmitool can not read the data from lom. so maybe a reset might help...

Actually I have not only resetsc, but I have also upgraded the entire firmware. I'm still getting the error message repeatedly

I think this happens when I upgrade the patches using the Feb/2011 EIS DVD. It replaces the IPMI tool package then this message starts to appear.

I don't know my way around this tool, but this message keeps appearing :wall:

I removed all the ipmi packages and the error msg is gone, not sure what's the importance of ipmi on SPARC T2000 ? any idea guys ?

root@test # pkginfo |grep -i ipmi
system SUNWipmi ipmitool, (usr)
system SUNWipmir ipmitool, (root)
system ipmitool ipmitool - Utility for Intelligent

root@test # pkgrm ipmitool SUNWipmi SUNWipmir

Niagara Servers starting with the T5xxx series are equipped with ILOM - first as alternative to ALOM, then, since the T3 systems arrived, ILOM is the only management interface. Maybe Netra T2000 are equipped with ILOM too (found some references). The original T2000 only supports ALOM.
