SUN SPARC rebooting problem, after Solaris 10 installation

Hi All,

I had install the solaris 10 into the SUNFIRE V890 server, after installed, it keep rebooting.

I wish to enter the OK mode again, and install back the Solaris 10.

i had try the "break" button and "stop+A" button, but all fail.

kindly advice...

If system is close to you open the box and remove the Hardisk data cable , it will automatically fail to boot once at OK then make auto-boot?false and do whatever you need to !!

You can follow the below appraoch:

  • Go to the RSC.

  • Execute the below command to restrict the server next time to ok prompt.
    bootmode forth

  • Power off the system.

  • Poweron the system.

This time it will stop at ok prompt, you can easily go for reinstallation.

i try to remove the HDD yesterday, but the server boot from network. "boot net"

I fail to use this RSC, since the Solaris 10 fail to install (look like crash already), and i cant login to the RSC.

any other idea? :slight_smile:

problem solve, turn the key to the diagnose position =)

Remove the network cable.
