we are using sun solaris sunfire server, suddenly server display is not working so we removed the graphic card and started the server, but the server is not responding.
kindly guide me to fix this issue if any disk error is there how to find and rectify it
Open a service request with Oracle and let them check the machine.
Okay, so what troubleshooting have you done:-
- Has the screen got power?
- Does the screen work anywhere else / can you put in a known good screen?
- Is the server running and on the network?
- Are there any attention lights?
- Is the server powered on?
You've not given much to work on, but I certainly wouldn't leap in and be pulling cards out.

I think you should try using ALOM with console port.
How can you know his server has an ALOM interface?
er.. sorry, I assumed most of them have it.
I'd check RAM first. all no-boot problems that we had were related to RAM modules. (re-seating, cleaning might help)
How do you know his server has RAM?
how do you know he exists? he might be a 'elisa' type bot or something.
but seriously, he probably knows what RAM is and whether he has it.
I think my reply can still be helpful, if not to him, maybe to someone else with similar problem.
Ya, it's cool... I just thought the OP was so vague there wasn't enough detail there to tell anything for sure.
thank you for your reply. actually i connected using ALOM through admin log in
and trying to boot. now the machine is not showing any indication, only one green light is blinking. the server is powered on, and connected in network, how to make the hard disk available. don't know what are the commands to give to check for the server to up. Since the server is secondary one we can have some tries.

Can you go into the console from the sc prompt?
console -f
Once there you should be able to manage.
If that does not work, what about connecting to the Net Management Port?
