Sun Fire V210 CPU Fan Temp too high?

Hey,

I have a V210 with a failed CPU fan.

The temperature is currently at 84C and I've been asked to wait a few weeks before replacing as its a production system and it cant be shut down yet.

Is it too hot? Do I risk killing the CPU at this temp?

Its been like this for a few weeks now and they want to wait a few more.

I want to tell them that it needs replaced now but I need to know for sure before I do....

Thanks

Optimal operating temperature for that system is -40 C to 65 C.
You are running a risk. I would never commit to being on the side of such a risk. Will they be responsible if it fails?

Yeah, I told the problem manager. He said to wait.

Apparently the app on the server hasn't crashed in a few weeks and they don't want to touch it since its going well for them. Kinda risky

we have similar one running over 70C for months now, IIRC. we've been replacing fans with plain 2 wire ones. originals are expensive. perhaps cleaning and lubricating would be a temporary fix.

70 is okay. 75 is where I'd start to worry.

Well... Its going to be another week before we're able to change it. fingers crossed it'll hold out.
