sudo password is the user's password.
There is no root user by default in OpenIndiana, you can edit /etc/sudoers to enable passwordless sudo
(Getting Started - OpenIndiana Docs)
pfexec bash
might also work, should start a root shell (with a #
prompt).
thank you,
i have a LIVE CD running. from the terminal
user Jack is there.
when i type su a promt for root password is asked.
because the system is asking for a root password, there must be a root password.
OpenIndiana is a fork from OpenSolaris which is derived from Solaris open source.
So what says:
$ sudo su -
??
Does that give you a root (#) prompt? If not, what happens?
