Start Scripting

Hi All,

I'm to join a new role which will demand a lot of Shell (bash) scipting for a Telecom envirement. I read a lot about SCripting but, I need your help to :

  1. create a lab for start making scripts and simulating them.
  2. How to learn AWK and SED and use them in my scipts.
  3. what Tools may I need (Virtual machine, Linux OS ...).

Just my 0.02�:

You could set up and use VM for this: Linux and Solaris.

You'll need to learn shell scripting too :slight_smile:
I think Bruce Barnett's tutorials are still the best,
you can find them on his site.

See #1. I use VM and Cygwin.
