Sol10 booting freezes just before CDE logging in.

Hello everyone,
There is a problem with hardware installation.
Probably someone faced with something similar.

Sun Blade 1500 with OS Solaris 10 installed, CDE workspace.
I can not add new graphics accelerator instead of older one.
I think I installed all needed packages related the new card, because the message: "Can't find driver for console frame buffer" doesn't appear anymore.
But the system booting freezes just before Logging In screen appearing. There are not any messages about fails there. The last message before freezing please find below.

***********************************************
Starting Desktop Login on display :0...
Wait for the Desktop Login screen before Logging in.

***********************************************

I guess that Xserver can not find older card because it doesn't exist physically anymore and I said nowhere about new one.
But I have no clue about where I have to say that.

Thanks in advance!

Can you get the server into single user and set it not to start the CDE?

If that gets you a working system (albeit text only) then it narrows it down. If the start-up still hangs, perhaps you have something like an NFS mount that is not being satisfied and the entry in /etc/vfstab is to have a hard foreground mount. If this is the case, setting it to be a soft background mount may solve your issue.

Let us know how this changes your symptoms and we can work on a plan from there.

Kind regards,
Robin

I've disabled CDE start and got Single User Mode successfully.
