Sol 11 login

Have an issue , we inherited a solaris 11 box. and everything was okay.. but I didn not want my login to expire since we dont login that often. So i removed exp in /etc/shadow and did

passwd -x usrname to wipe out aging.

only 2 of us had the root role.
the bad news is that both of our logins did expire anyway and we are locked out.

I know the root pw , but since we expired we cant log in or even from the console

we can not su to root.

i have broken into sol 10 many times. but 11 is a whole new ball game..

i even tried to burn a bootable dvd, and that did not work.

Is there any trick out there or workaournd to save this and somehow get back in? it is really a pain.

Thank you

passwd -x is about password aging; it is possible (and necessary) to change an aged out password.
Passsword expiration is something else, and really locks out the user; you should not apply it to all root-role users.

I don't know Solaris 11 well.
Maybe you have to recover it.
Certainly this is a case for the Oracle support.
I found the following article about recovery:
