Snmpwalk from OL8 to AIX 5.3 timeout

Hello

I have timeout when Itry to use snmpwalk on Oracle Linux server 8 to monitor AIX 5.3 server.
But it works when I try from a RHEL7 server

AIX serer : 10.20.31.11
OL 8 server : 10.20.31.10
RHEL 7 server : 10.20.31.32

command : snmpwalk -v 1 -c public 10.20.31.11
netsnmp version on OL server : 5.8
netsnmp version on RHEL server : 5.7.2

Best regards

welcome to the community, @slhotellier .
Is 10.20.31.11 ping-ab;e from BOTH OL and RHEL?
usually one has to specify an SNMP OID to "get".

Have you checked man snmpwalk on BOTH OL and RHEL?

Hello vgersh99

Yes 10.20.31.11 is pingable from any on my servers

I have check snmpwalk man page

"snmpwalk -v 1 -c public 10.20.31.11" works on RHEL7 but not on OL8 server
but my monitoring server is the OL8

Best regards

what if you try to get a particular SNMP OID (e.g.SysName.0):

snmpwalk -v 1 -c public 10.20.31.11 sysName.0

Check man snmpwalk on OL8 again to see any differences in syntax/options.
Are you sure your end device ( 10.20.31.11) is running SNMP version 1 (-v 1)? That's a pretty old SNMP version.
Are you sure that the end device SNMP community string is "public"?

Yes I know this server is old an snmp V1 too.
I sure that community is public because it works with RHEL7 server

I have recheck man page, but found nothing

Have you tried to get sysNam.0 for the target device from the Oracle OL8 host and from the rhel hosts?
If so, how did it go?
Any error/warning msgs?

You'll need to look more closely into man snmpwalk on OL8.
Saying "I have recheck man page, but found nothing" is too vague to draw any conclusions.
