Yes its possible .. its same as sending mails ... but the service provider must have webline enabled. Then if u send mails to 919882233312@service-provider.com then it will be received in mobile as sms.

Just call ideacellular customer service and ask them about the same, they will be able to tell you whether its enabled or not. Some service providers asks to pay some monthly rental to get the service enabled.
