Hello fellas or ladies.
I am new on this site and new to the unix operating system. I have been working with UNIX and i love it so far, i learned some stuff and most of the beneficiary command but I need help renaming all the files in my directory and doing them one by one is just tiring. is there a script that can rename the files interactively to any name of my choice when i run the script. any help is appreciated:)
We need more information on the old files and their new names, examples. Is there something they have in common in their names which has to be changed?
A short example with showing input and output would help. Also please use more describing subjects when opening a thread so people have it easier to search or at least look into the thread
