Sending an email using mutt...

I wanted to send "config.log" to the usergroup that handles open source support for Octave 3.8.0, a programming language as there were build errors.

In order to send an email from unix command line, I am trying to use mutt, and I need a straightforward way of sending emails, as the commands provided here are only successful in loading an interface where I can edit text, but I cannot quite find a way of sending the email.

I cannot take screenshots of the display on the virtual machine through Windows 10 either, this seems to be missing a shortcut key that only Microsoft/Oracle can tell me how to configure, I have not searched this topic to the technical level as yet to be honest, I just did some desktop research.

See Oracle VM VirtualBox Keyboard Shortcuts | KB Mode.
These are Windows 10's new keyboard shortcuts | PCWorld.

Do I need to configure mutt as well, or does it automatically send emails to web-based email such as Gmail?

I am using Ubuntu 3.13.0-32-generic on Oracle Virtual Box Virtual Machine.

Mutt is an email client. It is equivalent of Thunderbird or Outlook.
You still have to configure an outbound server; probably either sendmail or postfix.
