Saving LDOM Confguration

Hi,

I am new to Solaris LDOMs.
I just need to confirm if I save the guest LDOM configuration. Destroy the LDOM and need to use exported xml file to setup same LDOM, is OS installation required or everything will come as it is for new LDOM.

I heard that
--------
ldm list-constraints -x ldom_name > somefile.xml
--------
only exports the configurations.

Please provide some information.

Yes, ldm list-constraints saves only the configuration. Take a look into the xml.
It references the used disks or disk files. You need to save those also. Solaris is installed on the disks.
What's your goal with the save?
Recreate the LDom later or Move to another Server?
You need to save both the xml and the disks ..
Best regards,
Marcel

Hi,

Thank you for the information. My goal is to save configuration and recreate the LDOM again.

So yes, you need to save the LDOM config .xml AND the file system.

if you are using ZFS you could do this with a zfs snapshot send and recieve:
