thanks for sharing. amazing, immense resolve/toughness of these folks.
As a kid I read with awe and fascination the Kon Tiki expedition of Thor Heyerdahl
(I would regularly buy a dozen or so copies of the book and give to colleagues , citing it as an example of what teamwork can achieve and the spirit of endeavour ...).
aside - the books of Wilfred Thesiger are also a worthwhile read (Arabian Sands/Marsh Arabs personal favs). Wilfred Thesiger - Wikipedia
