Safe Number of Disks Assigned to a VIO Server

Is there any sort of best practice as to how many disks should be assigned to a VIO server? I currently have around 190-ish. All of my VIO servers can see those disks. Can anyone tell me how many you have on your VIO servers?

we have currently well over 3000 on 4 pairs of adapters per vio - it depends on how many adapters you use per vio server, your load and much more. IBM recommends not to use more than 1024 per pair of hba's but how much you really can add depends on your adapters, your general bandwidth and so on

Good, I couldn't find the IBM recommendation. Thanks!

There are few other limitation you should know
You should not use more then 85 Disks per vscsi pair (queue_deph 3)
Best practice said queue deph 10 on VIO client then calculation give us about 40 disks per vscsi pair.

Few days ago we made a test 230 disks assigned to vscsi pair of vscsi with default queue_deph setting
compering to 40 disks per vscsi pair with queue_deph 10
We got up to 20% improvement on oracle query speed.

It is really worth to do it
