Replace network drivers in SCO OpenServer5

Hello,
I have restored backup made on old machine to new machine and successfully made it to boot according to the instructions from this community. Version of the OS is 5.0.6
Now there is another problem. Old machine had integrated LAN Intel 82547 and SCO UNIX had appropriate driver installed. In the scoadmin, in the installed software I can see that the driver is Intel PRO/1000 Network connection ver 1.2.10).

The new machine has integrated LAN Realtek and I don't want to bother to try to make it work with SCO UNIX, because there is much simpler way to add external Intel Pro 1000 network card. So I disabled integrated LAN in CMOS.

So, I do have a spare Intel Pro 1000 PT Dual Server adapter EXPI9402PT, exactly as specified here:
[Drivers for the Intel PRO/1000 series Gigabit Ethernet family of network cards - eeG Driver version 2.3.10(Drivers for the Intel PRO/1000 series Gigabit Ethernet family of network cards - eeG Driver version 2.3.10)]
I have downloaded drivers form the ftp link and the instructions are clear.

The question I need to answer is to make sure I do it right and in the right sequence.
My plan is first to uninstall existing drivers of version 1.2.10 through software manager in scoadmin, then install drivers v 5.07 according to the instructions on the web page.
After that, I would shut down the computer, and put new Intel Pro card in the pciex4 slot on the motherboard.

Is this the correct way to do this or I'm missing something?

Thank you very much!
