I want to change my solaris hostname. Tell me what are the files i have to change. Will it requires reboot to get reflect with the new name
I changed in /etc/inet/hosts
You can change the hostname with the help of hostname <name of server>, and place the entry in /etc/inet/hosts. Reboot is not required to reflect the name change and once you have placed the entry into hosts file its going to persistence across the reboot.
only one file is required..
Coz thats the file which store the name of system which is linked to /etc/hosts
