Recover root password

I need to recover root password on a test server (E 10k) running solaris 9. Can someone please tell me how to do this?

The bsic procedure is:
boot single user from net/cd/dvd,
mount the root partition
clear the root password ( set it to a known value from the shadow file of another machine )
reboot.
