I am new to solaris 10.
I have a few questions
1) How do I check the current version of grub?
2) How do I update grub version
3) what version onwards supports GPT?

Run:
/boot/grub/bin/grub --version
By installing a newer Solaris patch that affects grub, if any.
I guess none. Solaris 10 bundled GRUB probably only supports the legacy BIOS MBR partition table.

I'd say GPT/EFI booting isn't in Solaris 10 on x86. Solaris on SPARC doesn't use GRUB, so that's going to be different.
