qfe errors and network cards

Hi All,

Hope you are all doing good.

In MY unix box i have 2 network cards. I want to know what if one network card fails. Does the second one will automatically take all the traffic or how it is supposed to work. Also in my logs i am seeing below errors . Can you throw some light of this qfe errors.

you can configure ipmp (ip multipathing) in solaris. with that you can configure a card with a standby adapter... go to docs.sun.com to read more about that.

1) I dont want how to configure.. I want to know the logic behind two network cards..
2) About the qfe errors.

The network cards will not take over if any of it fails unless you configure them to do so.. that's called ipmp.. there are a few ways to configure ipmp.. one of it is for failover purposes in case of NIC failure
