Problem installing Solaris 9

Hi all, i am new in solaris, i have a solris server Ultra 60, when i turn on the server show me the follow error:
Bad magic number in disk label
can`t open disk label package
Boot device: net File and args:
Timeouot waiting for ARP/RARP packet
Timeouot waiting for ARP/RARP packet
....
I dont know what is the meaning of this error.

i want install solaris 9, but i dont know how do it.
I think that i need change the boot device to cdrom for can install but i dont know, please help me.

It's trying to boot from the secondary boot device because the primary (probably disk) has failed.

In your case the seondary boot device is the network and it is now looking for a jumpstart server on the network.

simultaneously press the stop key and 'a' on the keyboard, this will give you the 'ok' prompt.

insert the first solaris CD and type:

boot cdrom - install

You must type it exactly as I have, including the spaces.

Whats the difference between boot cdrom and boot cdrom - install

The parameters follwoing the '-' are passed down to the OS at boot time and here the install is used to indicate to the mini-root on the cd that the purpose of the boot is an install.

In this case it probably won't make any difference, but if the machine was on a network with a server serving out the sysidcfg, or if a the system as being used with a custom jumpstart rule this information would not be found by the system and would have to be entered manually.
