we have a Digital unix acting as a print server which has been working fine until last week no print items are printing from it, 30 print jobs are queue up but not printing. How do I go about troubleshoting the problem. I have no knowledge of

Suggest you first figure out what software (if 3rd party) may be used in printing. If none, then you should be able to troubleshoot just as on Solaris.
Check out the different lp commands. Also look for the lpc command (give some more info then normal lp commands).
well when i have a issue with my AIX printers on teh network i do the following steps till it works.
1) reenable the que if it is down.
2) restart the printer and print server (not the unix machine)
3) restart the qdaemon
4) goto step 1-3
5) restart the unix box.
IF you notice you have no room in /var/spool you can always remove the print jobs manually then retry steps 1-4.
