Ok, Im a new network admin to the AIX environment. Im in the AIX console as we speak and I don't understand this issue with the print server. It's not a standard print server that I'm used to seeing and was wondering if any of you have any experiences with a Dev_Wait issue on a Digital to Serial (Known as a Digi) device. Currently its housing 15 printers and only one of the 15 are producing this issue.
I've done several "cancel" commands and it clears the queue but, the dev_wait status stays on the printer port... Lets call it lpq3. I've went into the serial port settings on the AIX machine for Printers and the printer still stacks the queue and produces no jobs. I've even tried to power cycle the device. It worked initially, but after the previous spool was completed and emptied, the next job produced the dev_wait state again.
What are possible causes for this issue?
