PC UNIX gui seamless install

Hello my fellow UNIX friends.

I am a retired UNIX programmer. I worked at IBM on the UNIX/AIX code.
My particular area was in the PC networking server and client code.
I analyzed and wrote code fixes for bugs that could not be fixed
short of manipulating, ie checking out the AIX OS code and coding changes.

My question:

Does anyone know of any projects dedicated to writing a seamless graphical user interface
to install Ubuntu on PC based architecture.

Yes this may sound like a huge project and it is. However I want to pursue this.

My reason, trying not to offend anyone, is to present PC UNIX to the every day PC users
as a preferable OS. I want Grandpa's like me and non technical people to enjoy a secure,

reliable and easy to use environment for their everyday computing needs.

Being as politically correct as I can be...... I wish to free the global PC end users from
OS systems that crash, are easy to hack and cost us more time in workarounds than
need be. In other words.... I want PC UNIX to be the number one OS for all PC end users.

Recap, Does anyone know of any current project to develop a seamless GUI install and config
interface.

Thank you for your time and considerations,

Dallan

Hi

Unless they dropped it, but last time I checked Ubuntu, they already had a GUI installer for PC installs.
And the 'donate wizzard-page' aside, a rather good one if I imagine non-experts using it.

This said, it's not clear to me what you are referring to / want.

Have a nice weekend.
