and eventually the patch was reflected when i did "uname -a"

I have solaris 10 running on that system and the patch iam trying to update is 118833-24.

I would like to know is the patch properly applied or not.

Thanks,

I remember that exact patch, it was a Kernel jumbo with a lot of fixes for rpc in particular, mostly becasue I remember the exact text of one of the problem reports

However, this is not normal, did you also install these required patches( or later revisions of same) ? 118822-30 119254-14 119578-24

Hi Reborg

Thanks for your reply. I did install 118822-30 and 119578-24 patches, so you mean it doesn't update all the kernel files?

But the patch level is reflected if i do uname -a . so do i need to do the patch install again or leave it like this.

Thanks.

I'm not sure here, but it may be an issue with broken patching tools 119254-14 was a fix for that. Rev 21,22,23 of 118833 had problems with those driver modules, and I am guessing that the faulty patches weren't properly removed.
