OpenBoot Firmware Password Recovery

So in the group of boxes I've inherited, I have one that has a firmware password. I do not know the root password of the machine nor the firmware password. I've tried several things already, such as: removing BIOS battery, double tap the power switch, and several variants of the STOP-A on a PC keyboard. I'm connecting through PuTTy on Console. This is a V210 and I do not see a removable NVRAM chip.

Type boot , go (continue), or login (command mode)
>

go does nothing from what I can tell
login require password (don't have)
boot only allows me to boot to default, not cdrom.

Thank you in Advance,
Adelsin

There's a procedure found @ this SUN forum. You may want to give it a try and let us know.

Installation - Replacing NVRAM for Openboot Password Recovery

Thanks again for the quick responses.

Here's what worked for me and I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner.

I had two V210's, 1 firmware, 1 not. Basically, I just removed the drives from the one that had firmware and stuck them into the Open one.
Did the precedure to get in the harddrive via root.

I then put the harddrives back and proceeded with the

"
eeprom security-mode=none
"

Thanks you and I look forward to being a proud member of this forum.
