Node Switch Reasons in HACMP

Hi Guys,

I have two nodes clustered. Each node is AIX 5.2 & they are clustered with HACMP 5.2. The mode of the cluster is Active/Passive which mean one node is the Active node & have all resource groups on it & the 2nd node is standby.

Last Monday I noted that all resource groupes have been switched to the second node (standby node). I searched in the file /tmp/hacmp.out but I couldn't find why is this happend.

Is there any log file can give me the reason of this switching?

As root, run "odmget HACMPlogs | more" to display the location of all of the HACMP logs.

It's strange that there is nothing in /tmp/hacmp.out (make sure you check this on both nodes). Also take a look at your errpt.

errpt should defenitely let you know why this switchover happened even if you have manually switched over using clstop etc. Also, have a look for any network card failures that might have happened. Surely, that would also be there in your errpt file.
