Need a Unix simulator for XP

Hi,
I need a very good unix simulator for Windows XP.
I have been using Cygwin for past 2 months, but since it has some problem in VI editor ,i need to get an alternative for that.
could u suggest an option for me?

its very urgent buddies........

Suggest you just switch editors. On Cygwin you can run any Windows editor, although you should probably find one which copes amicably with both DOS and Unix line-ending conventions.

If it is only the editor that worries you, maybe gvim is an option.
download : vim online

you can use a virtual mashine with unix/linux inside your windows installation.

what issues are you having with vi in cygwin?

you can use pendrive linux, no need to install just run as a MS windows application, works same as cygwin however this has got all power tools and is easy to work with.

Actually i didnt get an Editor with cygwin installation package.

Alternatives to Cygwin on XP include:

UWIN (by David Korn, etc) comes with a full set of utilities including editors such as vi.
SFU (by Interix/Microsoft) also comes with a full set of utilities.

Wubi allows you to install and uninstall Ubuntu as any other Windows application

topologilinux is a free Linuxdistribution to be run on top or inside your
existing windows system

or u can try L-nix , google it to download
