Move OS to storage disk

Hi

We have RHEL 7.3 running from local disk and we want to move it to storage.
I am unable to find any proper procedure to do this activity. Please help.

When you say 'storage', what do you actually mean? Do you mean something more like 'boot from SAN provided disk' perhaps, or 'boot from USB device' or something else?

Do you mean take a backup you can boot/restore from? (Like the lovely AIX mksysb, HP Ignite and the Solaris one) You might have more joy searching for threads like this:- https://www.unix.com/linux/34488-mksysb-equivalent-linux.html

Can you confirm what you actually want to achieve and what hardware you are running on (or virtualisation manager)

Regards,
Robin

Yes like boot from SAN but need to perform like alt_clone in AIX.

Please can you answer the second part so we know what we're dealing with:-

Thanks, in advance,
Robin

Sorry for delayed response.
Its a physical server and not a VM, intel based hardware.
