Mount and Mapping are same???

Please let me know if mounted on in Unix and Mapping in Windows are same thing???

"mapping" here is especially vague, it could even refer to a network filesystem here, which is nothing similar to a generic UNIX "mount". Except in that a generic UNIX mount could be a network filesystem, or any other kind of filesystem.

Windows and UNIX handle disks in completely different ways. There are no real equivalents, just things which look similar if you close one eye and squint a little.
